Short answer: request a CIF Jebel Ali quote if you want one price to Dubai, or FOB if you have your own forwarder. Decide early whether the cars are for UAE registration (GCC conformity applies) or for re-export from a free zone (the final country's rules apply). Everything else — shipping, documents, clearance — follows from that choice.

Why route Levin imports through Dubai?

Jebel Ali is one of the largest ports in the Middle East, with frequent car-carrier and container services from China. Dubai traders use it to supply the Gulf, East Africa, Central Asia and beyond. The Levin's Toyota badge, low fuel use and LHD layout make it straightforward to resell into right-hand-traffic markets.

How do FOB and CIF quotes differ?

Both are Incoterms rules from the International Chamber of Commerce. FOB covers the car, export clearance in China and loading on the vessel. CIF adds ocean freight and insurance to Jebel Ali. Under both, risk passes to you when the cars are loaded in China, and UAE duties, port charges and clearance are yours.

A useful quote request includes: model year, powertrain (hybrid or petrol), trim, colours, quantity, and whether the cars go to the local market or a free zone. We do not publish fixed prices because they depend on trim, quantity, stock and freight rates on the day — ask sales for a current quote.

Ro-Ro or container to Jebel Ali?

  • Ro-Ro: cost-effective for larger batches; cars are driven on and off the vessel.
  • Container: better for one to a few units or mixed orders; vehicles are secured inside, protected from weather. A 40ft high-cube usually takes four Levins — see our container loading guide.

Local registration or re-export?

For UAE registration, vehicles must meet GCC technical standards set through the GCC Standardization Organization. China-specification vehicles may need a conformity assessment; your clearing agent can confirm the requirements for the Levin before you order. For re-export, cars can stay in a free zone and move on to the destination country, whose import rules then apply.

Which documents will you receive?

Shipping documents typically include the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. A certificate of origin and other documents can be prepared when your clearing agent or the final market requires them. Clearance itself is handled through Dubai Customs.

Step-by-step checklist

  1. Decide: local sale or re-export.
  2. Confirm conformity requirements with your clearing agent (local sale only).
  3. Request FOB or CIF Jebel Ali quotes from EVtoU.
  4. Approve the proforma invoice and pay as agreed.
  5. Review inspection photos and video of your vehicles.
  6. Receive shipping documents and clear the cars at Jebel Ali.

Which Levin sells best in the UAE?

For local fleets, the new 2026 Levin hybrid offers the roomiest rear seat. For re-export to price-sensitive African markets, used 2024 and 2023 units keep landed cost down. See our UAE market notes for more.
